Udotea
The Udotea is a green marine algae of the Udoteaceae family.Udotea alga marina verde Udoteaceae intotheblue.it
It appears as if it were a small fan; the color is green and is fixed to the rocky substratum with thin rhizoids. It is present throughout the Mediterranean Sea
It is a typical algae of the coralligenous environment that tolerates light at low intensity, but it is possible to observe it even a few meters deep.
Habitat
Marine benthos in tropical to subtropical regions, widespread. Depth range from 1 to 46 m.
Biology
Found in shallow areas, growing on hard, sandy, soft sandy or sandy muddy substrates. Algae are marine plants provided with chlorophyll with a complex and undifferentiated body (in which the stem, roots and leaves are not distinguished flowers and fruits). A brief subdivision between the algae differentiates the algae species from the color of their thallus.
To the division of green algae belong those algae whose coloring, thanks to the strong presence of chlorophyll, ranges from green to gray.
