Branzino o Spigola Maculata - Dicentrarchus punctatus

Distribution and habitat
Compared to the common seabass, it populates the southerners: common along the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, it goes north to the Gulf of Guascna. It is still present along all the Italian coasts, except, perhaps, those of the northern Adriatic.

The size is smaller, reaching a maximum of half a meter in length for 1 kg and a half of weight.
Diet Predator, it feeds on crustaceans, molluscs and even small fish.
Reproduction It occurs in the winter in coastal waters.
